David, take a look at an exploded diagram of the rear bumper (Moss, =
Rimmer Bros, TRF=E2=80=99s Green/Blue books, etc.) You will see that =
under the over-rider is a =E2=80=9Crubber washer=E2=80=9D and a bracket =
that joins the centre bumper piece to the corner pieces. That =
=E2=80=9Crubber washer=E2=80=9D should already be there but if not in =
good shape, you can get a replacement from most of the usual suppliers. =
That =E2=80=9Crubber washer=E2=80=9D is likely what you are referring to =
as a rubber strip. When I took the bumper apart on my wife=E2=80=99s TR6 =
(now gone to a new owner), I documented the hardware bits in a Word =
document and would be happy to send it along if you like. Once apart, =
just bolt back together without the over-riders and support brackets.
