- Can you take a dead distributor and gut it to use as an oil pump primer....... that's what I use on my Fords.. A piece of plastic tube would never work on a Ford SB, it takes a lot of torque to turn

- Or a dab of axle grease around the threads... actually, anti-seize is my preference. I use one of the 69 dollar pump up suckers...... from Eastwood. Much better than the Mityvac... less hand strain.
