- No Scott, you misunderstand. As a former land surveyor, I read the "69'" as NOT shorthand for 69 feet, but for 69 minutes. This gives you the 0 to 60 mph times of the vehicle in question. mjb.

- Yes, if the Spit in question really had a Mark 3 manifold, it should fit any of the 1300 or 1500 Spit motors, all with the individual intake ports. The main problem might be cobbling up some linkage,

- It sounds like you are running into the confusion of 1300 motors. The Mark 3 Spit has a 1296cc motor that, other than a whole new head casting, is just a bored out version of the 1147 Mark 1 & 2 moto

- You can put teflon tape, miracle glop, silicone caulk, whatever you want on the threads. It won't help. The threads simply hold the two sealing surfaces together, they do not provide a seal themselve
